3. The EV must be one of the 3 following types;

EV

Plug in Electric Vehicle

Has a Battery power source that requires external charging and electric motor/(s) only.

PHEV

Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle

​

Has a Battery power source that requires external charging and electric motor/(s) + a combustion engine that operates when the electric motor isn't in use. 

FCEV

Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle

 

Converts Hydrogen into electricity as the car is driving, to power the electric motor/(s). The fuel cell emits nothing more than a few drops of water from the tailpipe.

This is not an extensive list of every complying EV available and does not take into account that the final drive away price of some cars may exceed the maximum level after adding accessories that increase the drive away price.

This list is purely a sample to demonstrate that the price point selected by the government for FBT exemption captures a good range of EVs at various price points.
